Hold the Cheese!!!

This story is hilarious. I can't believe the claims that are being made in this lawsuit. This is an old story but I thought it was worth blogging about.

A man, his mother and his friend are suing McDonald's for $10 million. The man bit into a hamburger and had a severe allergic reaction to the cheese. He says he ordered the burgers without cheese.
The Charleston Daily Mail reports that the man in his 20s, states that he clearly ordered 2 Quarter Pounders without cheese.

His mom and his friend became parties in the suit because they say they risked their lives rushing him to the hospital. The lawsuit claims that he was only moments away from death, by the time they got to the hospital.

"We're interested in seeing McDonald's take responsibility and change a systemic quality control problem that endangers the lives of up to 12 million Americans with allergies," said Timothy Houston, the Morgantown lawyer representing the plaintiffs.

The allergic man allegedly told a worker through the drive-thru speaker that he could not eat cheese, then told two more face to face at the window.

"By my count, he took at least five independent steps to make sure that thing had no cheese on it," Houston said. "And it did and almost cost him his life."

So then the 3 drove away and proceeded to eat the food in a darkened room.(They were going to watch a movie)

That was when he took a bite and immediately had a reaction. One of them called the McDonalds to let them know they had screwed up, but the call was cut short when the man's allergic reaction got worse.

Two managers called him later to make sure he was alright and apologize. McDonalds even offered to pay for half of the medical bills, which were about $700. After the lawyer got involved, they offered to pay them in full. They declined and the company was not offering anything else.
